19th Century Antique Wooden Stable Tethering Log / Candle Holder ‘Old Noggins’ for Equine Decor
Description
A beautifully aged solid wood stable tethering log or ‘chuke’ with circular hole running through either end for the stable tether for the rope. This equine collectable was historically used to weight a horse’s tethering rope, tightening the slack thus preventing any trip ups occurring. Today, they are cherished decorative collectables due to the weight and beautiful wear of the wood, often used as paper weights, pen holders or candle holders.
